Ballymun Youthreach completed their QQI certification for 2019 this month and have now begun the wind down for the upcoming holidays with some well-deserved trips and excursions. Ballymun Youthreach take part in Ballymun Fun Run
Ballymun Youthreach entered the 2019 Ballymun Fun Run this May as a whole centre and completed a combined distance of 270km. The event was, as always really well organised and attended and it was great to see so many familiar faces from Ballymun enjoying the activities. Ballymun Youthreach attend Whitehall College exhibition
Ballymun Youthreach Customer Service and Framing Group attended the magnificent end of year exhibition from Whitehall College in CHQ building, IFSC this week. THe group had framed all the framed art pieces of the 164 piece exhibition and were delighted to see the work displayed in such a lovely art space.
Well done to the group on meeting such tough deadlines and well done to all the Whitehall students on producing such beautiful work.
Ballymun Youthreach visit City Hall
Group C, who in partnership with Amplify Youth NI are planning their intergenerational week in May as part of the Bealtaine festival visited City Hall this week. The group were kindly given a tour by Counsillor Paul McAuliffe of City Hall and the Council Chambers as well as the Museum and an overview of Comhairle naNog. The group were also joined by Barry Andrews MEP in the museum for some fascinating stories about the Andrews family linkage to the 1916 Rising.
Intergenerational Week will take place in Ballymun Youthreach from May 7th to May 10th and will feature a week long schedule of events including picture framing, social media classes and interactive art classes. The week promises to be a wonderful opportunity for senior citizens in the community to interact with our students and hopefully a lot of mutual learning will take place.

Ballymun Youthreach visit Newgrange
Group C visited Newgrange as part of their Outdoor Pursuits programme yesterday. A great day was had by JC, Jack and the students Dean, Craig, Katie, Hannah Crowley, Hannah Connolly and Dylan. All students said the tour was very informative and are already looking forward to their next Outdoor Pursuits trip in six weeks time.
Customer Service Group display frames in Ombudsman for Children’s Office
The Customer Service Group recently completed a large number of frames for the Ombudsman for Children Offices on Jervis Street. The group delivered and mounted the frames prior to receiving a tour of the offices from Dr Niall Muldoon, Ombudsman for Children and Maria Malone.
